An international greeting and welcome
to the website of Dr. Marianne Hoffmeyer.
This website is intended with one goal in mind - to provide
you with periodontal, dental implant and cosmetic dentistry
information and offer you the exceptional care you deserve.
Congratulations in taking your first step towards your
treatment and commitment to a healthy mouth and a happy
smile.
Periodontal diseases are some of the most common infections
in the United States and Europe. More than 75% of American
adults over age 35 have some form of this disease.
Periodontal disease is a chronic disease, like
cardiovascular disease and diabetes. There are active and
inactive stages of the disease. Factors like lack of oral
hygiene, tobacco, illness, genetics and stress influence
this disease. If untreated - and these diseases are usually
painless at first - the support of the teeth and the jaw
bone is destroyed. At later stages the teeth become loose or
painful. In addition, gum disease can cause bad breath and
change the appearance of your smile. The goal of periodontal
therapy is to save existing teeth, to replace missing teeth
with implants and to contribute in cosmetic dentistry.
Dr. Hoffmeyer
has a Dental Degree as a General Dentist, a Dental
Specialist Degree in Periodontology (including Implant
Surgery) by the American Academy of Periodontology and in
addition she is also a Diplomate of the American Board of
Periodontology.
As a Board Certified Periodontist she has a
highly acknowledged, state-of-the-art, advanced training in
the treatment of periodontal disease and dental implants.
This specialty training and degree has also been recognized and certified by the
European Federation of Periodontology.
Dr. Hoffmeyer has been practicing dentistry since 1988 and
is a very experienced clinician.
She has also worked with
several research projects with colleagues in U.S.A and
Germany.
In addition she enjoys contributing to the future
of the specialty by teaching dental students at the
University School of Dentistry.
If you have been referred to Dr. Hoffmeyer by your general
dentist, it is very likely that your periodontal infection
has progressed beyond the mild stage or you need dental
implants. Dr. Hoffmeyer’ goal is
to work closely with your general dentist to help you
maintain your natural teeth and dental implants for a lifetime. Delaying
treatment can have serious consequences.
The focus of Dr. Hoffmeyer is to provide you with
individualized care. Enhancing your smile, as well as your
oral health, is a major concern. Dr. Hoffmeyer takes the
time to thoroughly examine your teeth, explain findings,
outline treatment options and recommendations and strives to
help you feel completely informed of your choices before
proceeding with treatment.
“A beautiful, healthy smile is usually associated with
quality of life, overall appearance and self-confidence. As
a periodontist, my goal is to keep you smiling, speaking,
and chewing with your natural teeth and your dental implants
for a lifetime.
I look forward to serving you....
Thank you, tak, danke, merci, gracias”
