What is Invisalign?

An invisible way to straighten your teeth without metal braces.
A series of removable, strong, clear plastic aligners, that gradually guides your teeth into perfect position.

How does Invisalign work?

Wear each set of Aligners for about 2 weeks. Remove only to eat, drink, brush and floss.
Your teeth will move gradually each week until they have reached their prescribed final position.
Visit Dr. Hoffmeyer every 6 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned.
Total treatment time averages 6-18 months, but will vary from case to case.
Average number of aligners is between 18 and 30, but will vary from case to case.

What is the procedure?

Visit Dr. Hoffmeyer for a consult and getting impressions, photos and x-rays of your teeth
The information is sent to Invisalign who makes your Aligners. Advanced 3-D computer imaging technology transforms your dental impressions into a custom-made series of clear and removable aligners.
You receive your Aligners in a few weeks.
You wear each Aligner day and night for about 2 weeks. You’ll visit Dr. Hoffmeyer about every 6 weeks.
You’ve finished wearing all your Aligners and achieved the planned smile. Dr. Hoffmeyer will make retainers to secure your beautiful smile.
Additional fees may have to be charged if you do not wear your aligners all of the time because new impressions and a new set of aligners may be needed.

Is Invisalign suitable for all cases? No. Invisalign works for many, but not all, cases. Ask for a consultation.
How often do I need to see you? Once every 6 weeks.
Does Invisalign alter my speach? You get used to Invisalign in a day or 2 and should be able to speak normally.
Do I wear the aligners 24/7? Yes, but you do take them out to eat and clean.
Will Invisalign make my teeth be sore? Yes, usually for 2-3 days after each change of aligners.
Is Invisalign suitable for teens? Yes, if they have all their permanent teeth.
Is Invisalign really invisible? From normal conversational distance most people will never notice. Invisalign is ideal for adults who want straight teeth but who do not want everyone to know.
How much does Invisalign cost? It depends on your case.
